Step Up 2 The Streets Opening and Title Sequance

In the title sequence we can see the production companies appear on the screen first. They appear on a plain black screen in white capitals. Then the film begins with what we can assume is a main character telling her story of how she began to dance. We can't see her as they only show a video of people dancing on the street and she is doing the over voice which matches the pieces of footage shown at the beginning. The footage is fast forwarded sometimes and we can hear people laughing a bit in the footage suggesting they're enjoying themselves just as the girl in the over voice is saying how much she thought the dancing was amazing and like from another planet and how much she wanted to be like them. After that short footage the name of the film appears with 'Step Up 2' written in a bold black font and 'the streets' written in a slightly smaller red font. At the end of the footage the girl in the over voice says that the streets have changed and then after the title the actual beginning of the film starts with cars driving past an then we're on the train. Then the camera zooms in on some people suggesting that they are a part of the film and that there is something about to happen. Then two guys start dancing on the train in masks and everyone looks a bit scared and then they make it look like they are infecting others and making them dance as well in the masks. When the train stops those people start to run away and then we find out that they are all a part of a dance crew and that it was just a part of a prank. I think that this a very good and very different way to start a film like that. The narrative is very clear and we can see it at the beginning by watching the footage and listening to the over voice. I also think that it is very interesting how they started the film showing the difference between how the dancing has developed and changed into something completely different and maybe a bit dangerous for some people.

Step Up Revolution Opening Sequence

In this opening sequence they highlight straight away the theme of the movie which is dance. They start it off by showing a dance scene and it clearly tells us that they are a crew. This is a very good way to start a film like that as it shows a clear narrative and show loads of different filming and editing techniques. We can see a tilt shot at the beginning meanwhile we can see the main actor talking in the car. Then the focus is on a girl who dramatically opens a suitcase with DJ equipment turning on the music. We can see everyone getting out of their cars stamping their feet and beginning to dance, then other people watching them and filming showing that they really like it and are very shocked by what they can do. It is filmed in a very good way as the camera is going backwards showing them jumping out of their cars. I think this opening sequence matches well the genre and the narrative of the film.

The Dark Knight Rises - OPENING TITLES HD

In this title sequence we can see that the production company is a big part of the film as it is show multiple times as the titles appear in a dramatic way highlighting the genre of the film. The titles appear on a dark background showing first the logos of the companies contributing in the production of the film which are: Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures, DC Comics and Syncopy. There is music playing in the background to make the opening interesting and to suit the genre which is Action/Crime/Thriller. Then the titles appear on little labels written in black capitals showing all the production companies once again and then the directors and screenwriters. Then after that the title of the film is showed on a label in red capitals and after that all the main actors. There is smoke floating over the labels with titles on them and it seems like they're in water which kind of says that there is going to be a lot action in the movie and maybe some fighting.

Credit/ Title Sequence Analysis - Man of Steel

This title sequence is very well matched to the opening. The titles appear in a basic, straight, medium sized font. They start off by showing who distributed the movie, then they show the Production Company and then after that the name of the Director so that we know straight away who made the movie. After that the names of the main actors who star in the movie appear an then the roles of the people who contributed in creating the costumes, visual effects supervisor, music, co-producer, editor, production designer, designer of photography, who written the screenplay and other important roles. The titles are very simple but go very well with the opening as they show up slowly. From the very beginning the credits are showed on a dark sky with something falling down that looks like a meteor but is intact the main character, but then we see that this was a video that someone is watching and from that we quickly change the location to a worm eye view of the place where the movie is possibly filmed in. Then finally we come to a house where we can see trophies and a photo of a young boy assuming that he is the main character or someone as important. All titles are in white block capitals and written in a bigger font than the conjunction words such as 'and'. The credits do not suggest what genre the film might be in. The credits are not in a completely the right order  because normally the main casts are shown last and the Executive Producer should be shown after the Main Producer.

Opening Sequence Research - Quantum of Solace

I liked this opening sequence as it is a good way to start an action movie like this. They started with a concept edit showing a sea and making it look like someone is going really fast and then cutting to a car that is driving very fast. This is very effective as the audience are drown in by the interesting start of the movie. Then they show the chasing scene between James Bond and the people that are after him. In this scene they show various number of shots such as front view, side view, close ups on the wheels, close ups on James bond and the people chasing him. Everything in this opening sequence is happening very fast and even though we can still pick up what is the story when at the end when James bond has escaped he opens up the trunk of his car and we can see why those people were chasing him as he has someone in there. In a very little period of time we can figure out the story, we are introduced to the characters and we know the genre of the movie.
